Hyderabad, which was once known as the Lake City.. that reputation is getting mixed up with the encroachment. The condition of the metropolis in the future is becoming questionable. If the determination of full tank level and buffer zones had been completed… the ponds would have been protected. But due to the neglect of the authorities, the tatakas have turned into homes for illegal constructions. Meanwhile, it has been found that there are 1100 encroachments in 13 ponds under HMD. It is noteworthy that the highest number of 204 structures surrounding a single Durgam pond are within the buffer and FTL limits.

Illegal constructions are going on freely in 13 ponds in HMDA. If the authorities had already completed the determination of full tank level and buffer zone, the ponds would have been protected. But due to the negligence of the HMDA officials, the Tataks have become home to illegal constructions. It has been found that 1100 encroachments have taken place in 13 ponds of HMDA.

Recently, after the High Court ordered the HMDA officials to complete the FTL and buffer zone demarcation process of the ponds, reports are being prepared in coordination with the district, revenue and irrigation officials at the field level. It was concluded that most of the 204 structures identified so far around Durgam pond under HMDA are within buffer and FTL.

Lack of coordination.

Negligence of officials and lack of coordination between departments is becoming a bane of pond maintenance under HMDA. It was concluded that informal buildings and constructions are especially heavy in Ranga Reddy and Medchal districts. In this order, they are preparing to analyze more deeply on the determination of FTL and buffer zone.

Especially in the background of severe criticism of encroachments around Durgam pond… It is known that the high officials have become serious as the negligence of HMDA, Revenue and Irrigation officials has come to light. In this order, HMDA Commissioner Sarfraz Ahmed ordered the officials to complete the FTL and buffer zone process along with inspecting the ponds in Rangareddy and Medchal districts similar to Durgam pond.

In two months
