Arshad Warsi Says His Character ‘Banda Singh Chaudhary’ Is An Example Of Unshakable Human Fortitude
Mumbai: Actor Arshad Warsi, who is gearing up for the release of his upcoming period film ‘Banda Singh Chaudhary’, says that his character in the film will be based on the unwavering human fortitude and spirit in dark times.
The film’s trailer was unveiled at a multiplex in Mumbai’s Juhu area on Tuesday and the story is set against the backdrop of the 1971 Indo-Pak war. As India was ravaged by war, a new war emerged that threatened religious harmony in India.
Punjab has become a hotbed of rising communal tensions as tensions between the Hindu and Sikh communities grow. The film presents the story of a fractured community in search of unity amidst chaos.
Arshad Warsi, who played the role of a man fighting a losing battle in the film, said, “The film digs deep into the raw emotions of people thrown into a storm of violence and fear. My character is someone who reaffirms that even in dark times, the human spirit has the courage to rise above it all.
Their human voice in the film is that communal riots scarred families and displaced thousands.
Actress Mehr Vij, who portrays a woman struggling with an unimaginable loss, says, “The story is personal. It’s about finding hope and love when everything else has collapsed. About standing strong when the World falls around you”.
Through the lens of its characters, the film explores the tension between society and nation, showing how the struggle for unity becomes a test of both heart and will.
Producer Arbaaz Khan said “’Banda Singh Chaudhary’ is not a story of struggle but a reflection of the strength of a nation that refuses to be broken by the forces of division. It is powerful, exciting and absolutely necessary for the times we live in”.
An Arbaaz Khan production ‘Banda Singh Chaudhary’ is presented in association with Seamless Productions LLP & Ax Movies & Entertainment. The film is produced by Arbaaz Khan & Manish Mishra.
The movie will hit the theaters on October 25.
