Babar Azam faced trolling after stepping down from Pakistan’s ODI and T20 captaincy

New Delhi: While Babar Azam was struggling with the bat, the Pakistan star became a constant target of trolls on social media. After the batsman stepped down from the captaincy of the Pakistan ODI and T20 team, cruel messages flooded the social media.

Babar took it to X to announce his resignation from the post in ODIs and T20Is, saying he had informed the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and team management of his decision in September.

‘Babar Azam has resigned from the Pakistan captaincy again. He is looking for his personal growth, not the team’s growth,” added one user.

Notably, this is the second time in less than a year that Babur has resigned from the captaincy of the senior National men’s team. Babar stepped down from the three-format captaincy after Pakistan’s poor performance in the ODI World Cup in India last month in October-November.

Earlier, Babur had said the captaincy added a ‘significant workload’ and by stepping down, he would be able to bring his energy to the team with the bat.

“Dear fans, today I have something special to share with you. “I have decided to resign as the captain of the Pakistan Men’s Cricket Team effective from my notification to the PCB and team management last month,” Babar had previously said in a late-night post on X on Twitter.

“It has been an honor to lead this team, but it is time for me to step down and focus on my role. Captaincy has been a rewarding experience, but it has added a significant workload. I want to prioritize my performance, enjoy my batting and spend quality time with my family, which brings me joy. .

“By stepping down, I will gain clarity about moving forward and focus more energy on my game and personal growth. “I am grateful for your unwavering support and faith in me. Your enthusiasm means the World to me. I am proud of what we have achieved together and excited to continue contributing to the team as a player. Thank you for your love and support,” he added.
