An annual ritual was held at Tirumala Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple Koil Alwar Thirumanjanam Today. The event was held to celebrate Salakatla Brahmotsavam, an important festival in the temple calendar.

From 6 AM to 11 AM, the temple priests engaged in an elaborate cleaning program and washed and cleaned various parts of the prestigious temple. Their efforts encompassed sub-temples, temple premises, walls, roofs and puja paraphernalia from Ananda Nilayam to Bangaruwakili.

Koil Alwar Thirumanjanam is a prestigious ritual performed four times a year with cleansing rituals on Tuesdays before important festivals like Srivari’s annual Brahmotsavams, Vaikuntha Ekadashi, Ugadi and Anivara Asthanam. This tradition not only emphasizes the importance of cleanliness in holy places but also reflects the deep spiritual practices espoused by the temple community. Tirupati Times
