Bhakta Ramdas pump house damaged due to flood

Hyderabad: In the wake of the inundation of the Vatti Wagu pump house under the Palamuru Ranga Reddy lift scheme, flood water entered the Bhakta Ramdasu Lift Irrigation Scheme (BRLIS) pump house in Khammam district causing immense damage.

Lift Irrigation Scheme was the first irrigation project completed under BRS to irrigate 59,000 acres of Ayakattu in tail end of SRSP Stage II in Palair Constituency.

Irrigation officials have not assessed the full extent of the damage even though the two pumping units have a combined yield of 600 cusecs. The pump house was set up in a record 11 months. It was launched in February 2017.
