Ponguru Narayana, who took charge as the State Municipal and Urban Development Minister, said that the development works of Amaravati, the state capital, will be completed in the next two and a half years. He took charge as the State Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development at 9.06 am on Sunday at the State Secretariat in Velagapudi. On this occasion, he said that the best design has been created and implemented with the aim of making Amaravati, the state capital, one of the first five best capitals in the world. He said that the best design has been designed and implemented with the help of the Singapore government so that all the districts of the state can develop economically even if it is a development program like Etu in the capital. He said that Singapore, China, Japan, Russia, Malaysia and other countries were also visited to create the best design for the state capital. In order to cover the majority area in the capital, in the first phase of the construction of buildings for ministers, secretaries, officers and employees, tenders were called for Rs. He said that payments of 9 thousand crores have also been made. He said that the construction of buildings for the residence of ministers, secretaries, officials and employees is also almost 90 percent complete. As part of the land acquisition required for the construction of the capital, if the notification for land pooling was given on January 1, 2015, then on February 28, 2015, the farmers handed over 34 thousand acres to the government without any litigation. He said that the previous government was very careless in the matter of capital development.
He said that a lot of study was done in the past and good experience was gained for the construction of the state capital, and with the same vision, the Chief Minister of the state Shri Nara Chandrababu Naidu has again assigned the responsibilities as the Minister of Municipal Administration and Urban Development. He said that from today we will conduct reviews with the authorities and come to a clarity in the next fifteen days and inform the people about what will be completed by what time.
Answering the questions asked by many journalists on this occasion, the minister said that the master plan prepared earlier will be implemented in the matter of capital development. He said that in the past, a plan was made and implemented to carry out the development works of Amaravati in three phases. He said that it has been estimated that Rs.48 thousand crores will be spent for the development of Amaravati capital in the first phase. He said that with this first phase of work, the city construction works will be completed and in the second phase, metro rail construction works will be taken up.

Ponguru Narayana assumed charge as the State Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development at the State Secretariat in Velagapudi at 9.06 am on Sunday. He took charge as the Minister of State with great pomp amidst the chanting of Vedic scholars in the chamber allotted to him on the second block ground floor of the Amaravati Secretariat. He arrived at the State Secretariat to take up his duties as a Minister and was warmly welcomed by the Vedic scholars with Purnakumbha and the officials with flower bouquets. After performing puja to that Lord amidst the Vedic mantras of scholars, they sat down in their seats. State Municipal and Urban Development Department Special CS Y. Srilakshmi, CDMA Sridhar, CRDA. Commissioner Vivek Yadav, Additional Commissioner Katta Simhachalam, Vijayawada Municipal Commissioner Swapnil Dinkar, CRDA Chief Engineer N.V.R.K. Prasad, Ch. Dhananjay and many officials and non-officials congratulated the minister by presenting flowers.
