Chandipura Virus: Person infected with symptoms similar to Chandipura virus dies

Indore: A person suffering from Chandipura Virus-like symptoms died in Indore, Madhya Pradesh while receiving treatment. According to the National Institute of Virology report, the 21-year-old man was found to have symptoms similar to the Chandipura virus. Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr. BS Satya said that the person was admitted to a private hospital in the city and Chiksita was administered. He revealed that he had symptoms of Chandipura virus.

His sample was sent to the virology lab in Pune on 10th August. The man, who hails from Khargone, was treated in Indore from August 6. Chandipura virus cases have not been confirmed in Indore district, the official said. Chandipura virus causes fever and encephalitis. This virus has flu-like symptoms. This disease is spread by mosquitoes and insects.
