Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu During a visit to the flood-affected areas of Kakinada district, the government announced its commitment to modernize the Eleru Canal. Speaking at a meeting held at Rajupalem of Kirlampudi mandal, he said that the negligence of the previous governments was the reason for the difficulties faced by the residents in the management of key projects.

The CM reported that there was a sudden flood of 47,000 cusecs in the Eleru Reservoir, resulting in large-scale flooding in many areas. The District Collector was able to handle the situation effectively with prompt actions. However, with around 65,000 acres of crop damage reported due to floods, the impact is still significant.
Responding to this vandalism, Naidu announced that the government would provide a compensation of Rs. 25,000 per hectare for damaged agricultural lands. In addition, construction of new houses for residents whose houses were damaged and Rs. 10,000 for each vehicle damaged during floods.
The Chief Minister assured that the government is dedicated to helping those affected by natural calamities and will provide compensation to the victims by the 17th of this month.
