The state government has filed a petition to stop the padayatra of the farmers who have given land for the construction of the capital with the demand of continuing Amaravati as the capital of AP. The AP High Court on Friday heard the petitions filed by Amaravati farmers to continue the yatra. The High Court heard all these petitions together. The court declared the hearing on these petitions over and reserved the verdict.
During the hearing, the farmers of Amaravati have mentioned some other issues in addition to what they had told the court in the past. As told by the court, only 600 people will participate in the yatra, and if anyone leaves, they are asked to allow new people to come in their place. The government argued that the yatra should be stopped keeping in mind the problems arising from the yatra. After hearing all these arguments, the court said that it will reserve the verdict.
