New Delhi: The ninth edition of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup will begin on October 3 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). All the matches of the showpiece event will be held from October 3 to October 20 in just two cities – Sharjah and Dubai. Bangladesh Women and Scotland Women clashed in the tournament opener on Thursday.

Ten teams will battle it out in the group and knockout tournament, with Australia being the most successful team, having won six titles in eight editions so far. Group matches from October 3 to October 15

The group matches of the showpiece event will be played from October 3 to October 15, with the semifinals lined up on October 17 and October 18. The final of the tournament will be held on October 20 at the Dubai International Stadium. Australia, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and New Zealand are in Group A while England, Bangladesh, South Africa, Scotland and West Indies are in Group B.

India will play their first match against New Zealand Women on Friday, October 4 at 7.30 pm in Dubai, while the all-important clash between India and arch-rivals Pakistan will be played on Sunday, October 6 at 3.30 pm in Dubai. .
