Court rejected Darshan’s petition to get a house

It is known that Kannada actor Darshan Thugudeepa is in judicial custody in the Renukaswamy murder case. On Thursday, the court rejected a plea filed by Darshan seeking to direct the jail authorities to allow home-cooked food in the jail. In an earlier petition, Darshan had asked the court to allow him to bring clothes, bedding and books. Earlier this month, the Karnataka High Court had suggested to approach the Magistrate’s Court in this regard.

In his petition, Darshan stated that he lost weight because he could not digest the food provided in the jail. It is mentioned that Darshan was suffering from diarrhoea.. Jail doctors also diagnosed it as a case of food poisoning. Dismissing Darshan’s petition, the court said that in view of the jail rules, the facilities sought by the petitioner cannot be given to the accused in the murder case.

According to police sources, 33-year-old Renukaswamy, a fan of Darshan, sent lewd messages to Darshan’s close friend Pavitra Gowda. That angered Pavitra Gowda and Darshan. This led to the murder. On June 9, Renukaswamy’s body was found near a drain near an apartment in Sumanahalli.
