Delhi Coaching Center Tragedy: The case of the death of three UPSC candidates in Delhi’s Rajendranagar has reached the Supreme Court. UPSC candidate Avinash Dubey has written a letter to the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court requesting protection of fundamental rights. Students are asked to ensure that they study in a safe and healthy environment. Due to the indifference of the Delhi Municipality authorities, rainwater stagnates in Old Rajendranagar and Mukherjeenagar areas and this situation has caused the death of three candidates. He said that if it rains, they have to walk in knee-deep water and the Rajendranagar incident has proved that the lives of students are not safe.

Demolition with bulldozers

In the wake of the tragic incident in Delhi’s Old Rajendranagar in which three innocent people lost their lives, there was a move in the government machinery. Delhi Government and Municipal Corporation officials have taken corrective measures. NCD officials seized the library rooms located in the basement of the ground floor of 13 coaching centers. Illegal structures in front of coaching centers were demolished with bulldozers.

Lieutenant Governor Bharosa

Lieutenant Governor of Delhi VK Saxena personally inspected the site of the incident at Old Rajendranagar Rao’s IAS Academy. He spoke to the protesting UPSC students at Raos Coaching Centre. Asked about their problems. He assured that strict action will be taken against those responsible for the death of the three students.

Mayor’s emergency meeting

In the wake of the Old Rajendranagar tragedy, Delhi Mayor Shelly Oberoi called an emergency meeting on Monday afternoon. Commissioner of MCD, CEO of Delhi Jal Board, Principal Secretary of Public Works Department and other senior officials participated in this meeting.

AAP and BJP are concerned

Aam Aadmi Party workers protested in front of Delhi Lieutenant Governor’s office demanding action against those responsible for the incident at Old Rajendranagar Rao’s IAS Academy. They demanded action against the Commissioner and officials of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi. On the other hand, BJP workers protested in front of the AAP office. They demanded to repair the drainage system of Delhi.

An ongoing investigation

Delhi Police’s investigation into the Rajendranagar Rao’s IAS Coaching Center incident is ongoing. The police arrested seven people, including the owner of Rao’s Coaching Center, Abhishek Gupta and the coordinator, Despal Singh. The court sentenced them to 14 days judicial custody.
