Establishment of Skill University in Tirupati | Andhra Pradesh to establish Skill University in Tirupati
Chief Secretary Dr KS Jawahar Reddy said on Monday that the Government of Andhra Pradesh will set up a Skill University in Tirupati. He spoke in a review meeting held with officials of various government departments at the Secretariat in Velagapudi. Jawahar Reddy said that the government is taking steps to provide skill training and employment opportunities to the youth under the convergence policy. He directed the officials to take necessary steps for the establishment of Skill University in Tirupati and provide skill training in various fields in coordination with industries and organizations. He also said that the government is already running 26 skill training colleges in every parliamentary constituency across the state.
Apart from this, various skill training programs are being conducted in 192 places including tribal areas, he said. Jawahar Reddy said that the government is committed to provide quality skill training to the youth and give them jobs. The officials were asked to work in coordination with industries and other partners to achieve this goal. Education Commissioner Suresh Kumar, Skill Training Development Corporation CEO Vinod Kumar, Education Principal Secretary Praveen Prakash, Handloom Textiles Principal Secretary K. Sunitha, Industries Secretary N. Yuvraj and Industries Commissioner Praveen Kumar participated in the meeting.
