Harish Rao questions BJP over injustice to Telangana in allocation of NDRF funds
Hyderabad: Former minister and senior BRS MLA T Harish Rao lashed out at the central government for the allocation of National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF) resources to Telangana. He expressed anger that Telangana received more than half of the NDRF funds compared to Andhra Pradesh.
The Union government on Tuesday approved the release of Rs 416.8 crore to Telangana and Rs 1,036 crore to Andhra Pradesh as central share from the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) and advance from NDRF in view of the recent floods. The Telangana government has asked to give Rs.5,000 crore as interim relief for the flood damage.
Harish Rao criticized the BJP questioning the poor treatment of Telangana despite electing eight BJP MPs from the state. Telangana has been given zero in the central budget allocations. No specific grants are earmarked for the state. Now, less than half of the funds sanctioned to Andhra Pradesh are allocated to Telangana from NDRF. Is this what sabka sath, sabka vikas means?” he asked.
If Telangana gives 8 MP seats to BJP, what will happen to the state?
In central budget allocations, Telangana is zero.
Insist on state specific grants to Telangana..
NDRF allocations to Telangana are below average with Andhra.
