Amaravati: The 33rd meeting of the Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) has decided to distribute house plots to the poor in Krishna and Guntur districts in 20 layouts spread over 1134.58 acres in Amaravati after the legal hurdles have been removed.
Jaganmohan Reddy decided here on Monday to grant house plots to 48,218 poor people who do not have their own houses in Mandham, Inavolu, Krishnayapalem, Navulur, Kuragallu and Nidamanur areas in the CRDA meeting presided over by Chief Minister YS.
The government has made changes in the CRDA Act to grant housing plots to the poor. According to Section 41(3), (4) of the CRDA Act, the government created R5 zone and brought various lands under its purview. After receiving the objections and suggestions, the government finally issued a gazette notification in October to create the R5 zone.
The Chief Minister directed the Collectors of Krishna and Guntur districts to prepare DPRs along with lists of beneficiaries and submit them to CRDA. Beneficiaries will be given house plots under the third phase of Navaratna-Poor Houses scheme.
The recently issued JiVo granting house plots to the poor in Amaravati is in line with this. The CM ordered the officials to prepare an action plan to provide the necessary infrastructure for the construction of houses to the beneficiaries in the mandal and asked them to speed up the work. It is suggested to start the work at least by the first week of May.
