HYDERABAD: 254 Kg Ganja seized from Araku to UP; 5 peddlers were caught
Hyderabad: 254 kg of dry cannabis worth Rs 88 lakh has been seized from five drug dealers who were illegally transporting it from Araku in Andhra Pradesh to Uttar Pradesh and Mumbai via Telangana. The total value of seized illegal goods is Rs.
Rajendranagar police along with Cyberabad SOT police intercepted the gang traveling in a Maruti and drugs were found in their vehicle.
On Tuesday, on specific information, the Cyberabad Special Operations Team (SOT), Rajendranagar team along with the Rajendranagar Police, from Visakhapatnam to Uttar Pradesh and Mumbai for Rs. 1,04,65,700 worth five drug peddlers were caught while transporting ganja and other goods. via Hyderabad.
The accused have been identified as Thakur Sachin Singh, Mohammad Nadeem, Mohammad Saqlain, Mohammad Salim and Prashant Singh. All are from Uttar Pradesh.
Method of operation
Thakur Sachin Singh and Vinod Kumar Yadav have been transporting dry cannabis from Arakuloya in AP to Uttar Pradesh for five years.
During the last three months they visited Arakuloya and bought dry ganja from a man named Raju and sold it to Amit Singh. They also bought a pistol which they kept with them while transporting the ganja.
According to reliable information, SOT Rajendranagar team along with Rajendranagar police intercepted two vehicles at ORR service road near exit number 17 and seized 254 kg packets of dry ganja worth Rs.88,90,000.
On seeing the police, two persons named Vinod Kumar Yadav and Ravinder Yadav fled from the spot. Besides, the police arrested five accused and seized 254 kg of dry ganja, 32 country made pistol along with 11 rounds and two vehicles from Thakur Sachin Singh.
A case has been registered and investigation is underway.
