Hyderabad: Division level folk festivals have started in Shilparam
Hyderabad: Shilparam Madapur and South Central Zone Cultural Center Nagpur, jointly organized by the Ministry of Culture inaugurated a three-day divisional level folk festival of Telangana folk dances here on Wednesday. Shilparam Special Officer Kishan Rao and Archeology Survey of India Superintending Archaeologist Dr Sumita S Kumar participated in the inauguration ceremony.
Telangana folk dances, Og Dolu, Dappu, Perini and Mathuri dances will be performed today, and ‘Saris of India and Bathukamma Dussehra Festivals’ will be organized from October 3 to 13 at Madapur by Shilparam. Pochampally, Gadwal, Kota, Mangalagiri, Pulkari, Kashmiri, Bengali Cotton, Silk, Banarasi Silk, Chenderi, Kalankari, Munga, Muslin, Tussar, Jamdhani, Bandini etc handloom sarees are available.
A number of cultural programs including Kuchipudi, Bharatanatyam, Kathak, Odissi, Carnatic Gatra and Veena concerts are organized daily along with Bathukamma and Dandiya.
