IIT-Guwahati | Massive protest over student’s death. IIT Guwahati dean resigns

Guwahati: Massive protests broke out over the death of a B.Tech student. The students demanded the removal of the dean. In this context, the Dean of IIT-Guwahati has resigned. The incident took place at IIT Guwahati in the capital of Assam. A 21-year-old BTech student from Uttar Pradesh committed suicide in a hostel room on Monday. The third student died this year and the students protested on a large scale.

Meanwhile, the students alleged that about 200 students failed due to low attendance despite getting good marks in the exams. They alleged that they are creating a toxic environment in the educational institution in the name of putting pressure on the students. They demanded the removal of the dean who was responsible for this.

On the other hand, academic dean Professor Kanduru V Krishna resigned from his post in the wake of massive protest by students. An alumnus of IIT Delhi, his resignation was accepted by the management of IIT Guwahati.
