The High Court on Wednesday heard the petitions filed by TDP MLA Ramakrishna Babu and Jana Sena corporator Murthy Yadav on the issue of Rushikonda mining in Visakhapatnam. During the last hearing, the advocates of the petitioners had raised an objection to the appointment of three state government officials in the committee set up by the Center to investigate illegal mining. He said that these appointments are against the orders of the court. The High Court had earlier directed the Center to file an affidavit in this order. With this, the Center has filed an affidavit supporting the appointment of AP government officials. In this order, the High Court made strong comments that it seems that the Center has joined hands with the state.

The High Court questioned the central government counsel as to why the objections of the petitioners were not taken into consideration. In this order, the High Court said that they will appoint a committee after investigating the petition. The High Court directed the advocates of the petitioners to file an affidavit expressing objections to the committee set up by the Centre. The next hearing in this regard has been adjourned to Thursday. It is known that the opposition parties are severely criticizing the YCP government for destroying the Rushikonda area..!
