Israel: We will withdraw from Gaza only if we do what we say: Netanyahu
Tirupati Times, National Bureau: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made a key announcement. He made it clear that there is no intention of withdrawing the army from the area from southern Gaza to the border with Egypt until it is assured that the terrorist activities of Hamas will not continue. Netanyahu blamed Hamas for failing to reach a cease-fire agreement.
Hamas protested that all the proposals they had suggested regarding the release of Israeli hostages had been opposed. He denied the allegation that a cease-fire agreement with Hamas was not being reached because he was pushing for control of the Rafah Corridor on the Egyptian border. Netanyahu made these comments at a press conference held in Jerusalem on Wednesday.
