Kolkata rape fallout: TG govt to set up police outposts in all hospitals
Hyderabad:Telangana is the first state in the country to set up police outposts in all teaching hospitals and tighten security by conducting night patrols through SHE teams to solve the security problem of health care professionals, especially women doctors and nurses. .
The government has proposed linking CCTVs in all PHCs and hospitals with local police stations as part of measures to ensure security of healthcare professionals. A decision to this effect was taken in a review meeting held by Health Minister Damodara Rajanarsimha with Home Department officials on Monday.
The Telangana Medicare Service Persons and Medicare Service Institutions (Prevention of Violence and Damage to Property) Act, 2008 was also reviewed and the Health Minister directed the authorities to prepare guidelines for night patrolling by She Teams to provide protection to hospital staff especially women doctors. , women nursing officers and other staff.
The state government has allocated a special space in the TIMs hospitals. The health minister said that the government has already constructed police outposts in ten teaching hospitals of the state and every hospital should have a security house.
The Health Minister has asked that the private security agency must have PSAR (Private Security Agency Regulation Act-2015) accreditation. Security will be strengthened in all types of health centers from PHC level to area hospitals. The minister asked the officials to prepare standard operating procedures (SOP) for safety in hospitals. The health minister asked the hospital owners to have safety committees as per the guidelines issued by the Supreme Court on the safety of women doctors, nursing staff and other healthcare personnel.
The minister directed the officials to form security committees at the state and district level and submit a report by September 14.
The meeting also discussed about the registration of cases related to doctors and nurses under Act No. 11 of 2008. The minister asked for the details of the cases registered so far. He asked to set up fast track courts in the 10 districts which were there earlier and speed up the cases.
