Lufthansa flights to Hyderabad and Mumbai return midway after Israeli ground attack on Lebanon
Hyderabad: A Lufthansa flight from Frankfurt to Hyderabad was turned back midway on Tuesday amid threats of an outbreak of hostilities between Iran and Israel. Another Lufthansa flight from Frankfurt to Mumbai was also diverted in between.
A Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner (DLH752) en route from Frankfurt to Hyderabad has turned around and is now returning to Frankfurt, reports Flightdradar, a global aircraft movement tracker. The Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner almost reached Iranian airspace after crossing Armenia.
Another Lufthansa flight from Frankfurt to Bombay (DLH756), an Airbus A 340-313, also returned to its origin after traveling across the Black Sea from Turkey. Two other flights from Frankfurt to Dubai (DLH630) and Zurich to Dubai (SWR242) on the same route are also returning to their originating station.
Meanwhile, Iraq has closed its airspace, causing severe disruption to air services in the region, while flights over western Iran are diverting from established airways to newly established temporary airways in the east, Flightradar reported.
