Kolkata: Protests are continuing across the country condemning the murder of a 31-year-old junior doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in the capital of West Bengal, Kolkata. Before the controversy was over, the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) government led by CM Mamata Banerjee transferred doctors on a large scale.

(Massive Transfer of Doctors) 42 professors and doctors working in various medical colleges and hospitals across the state have been transferred. Dr. Sangeeta Paul and Dr. Supriya Das, who are working at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, are among those transferred. Orders to this effect were issued on Friday.
On the one hand, doctors’ unions and opposition were furious over Mamata Banerjee’s government’s transfer of doctors at a time when protests were going on. The United Doctors Front Association said it strongly condemns the unfair transfer of faculty members who supported the protest.
They tweeted that they will stand united and strong in their fight. The BJP has criticized the transfer of doctors as a conspiracy and an attempt to ‘intimidate’ senior medical professionals.
