Metal detectors to increase security at Vijayawada Indrakiladri

Vijayawada: Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy Varla Devasthanam (SDMSD) Trust Board Chairman Karnati Rambabu has directed the concerned authorities to provide facilities like temporary sheds and adequate water facilities to the devotees who come to the temple during summer season. Speaking to the media, Chairman Rambabu said that eight door metal detectors and hand metal detectors have been purchased. To enhance security in the temple, security devices will be installed at eight different entrances to increase the safety of devotees, he said.

He said that a decision was taken in the previous board meeting to install metal detectors and Rs.6 lakh was spent for the equipment. Rambabu said that as the crowd in the temple on Indrakiladri has increased, special measures are being taken so that the devotees coming from different places do not face any problem. On the other hand, devotees flock to Indrakiladri in large numbers to visit Durgamma as it is summer vacation.
