Aman is the only male wrestler who competed on behalf of India in these Olympics. Despite being upset in the semis, Sadhikarika won the bronze medal match against his opponent. After winning the bronze medal, Aman said, “My parents wanted me to become a wrestler.” They don’t know about Olympics. But they wanted to see me as a winner. Aman Sehrawat said that I am dedicating my medal to my forefathers and the country.

Aman Sehrawat, who won the bronze medal in wrestling, set a new record. He broke the record previously held by badminton star player PV Sindhu. Aman became the youngest Indian athlete to win an individual medal at the Olympics. PV Sindhu was 21 years 1 month 14 days when she won the silver in 2016. Aman’s current age is 21 years and 24 days. Aman Sehrawat has broken the record set by PV Sindhu.

Since 2008, Indian athletes have been regularly winning medals in the wrestling section of the Olympics. Aman Sehrawat continued this tradition in Paris Olympics 2024. Sushil won bronze medal in 2008 and silver in 2012. Similarly, Yogeshwar Dutt won bronze in 2012. Sakshi Malik won bronze in 2016. Ravi Dahiya won silver in 2020. Baj Rang also won bronze in 2020 Olympics. Thus the custom continues. Recently, Aman Sehrawat won the bronze medal in the wrestling category. Before this, in 1952, KD Jadhav won a bronze medal in wrestling.
