Paris Olympics – Manizha Talash : Another athlete has been disqualified from the Paris Olympics. Afghanistan’s Maneeza Talash has been disqualified by the Olympic Committee. The reason for this is that she wore a cape that read “Free Afghan Women” at a breakdance event. According to the rules of the Olympics, no political or religious slogans or announcements should be made in the games. 21-year-old Maneeja participated in the breakdance event on behalf of the refugee team.
Maneeza Talash is from Kabul and currently lives in Spain. She fled Afghanistan after the Taliban took over in 2021. Since the Taliban came under the rule of Afghanistan, women have been facing many restrictions. Girls’ schools were closed. Women were banned from dancing and playing games. They brought many rules like women should not go out alone without a man.
