Red alert issued in Delhi.. schools closed.. many flights cancelled

Heavy Rains In Delhi : The capital city of Delhi is not getting heavy rains. Heavy rains on Wednesday evening left the low-lying areas waterlogged. Central Delhi’s Pragati Maidan observatory recorded 112.5 mm of rainfall in just one hour. The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for Delhi as many parts of the city received record rainfall and torrential rains.

A 22-year-old woman and her daughter accidentally fell into a drainage in Ghazipur area and died due to heavy rain on Wednesday night. Due to the heavy rain, the traffic was severely disrupted due to heavy rain water entering the roads. In the wake of heavy rains, the Meteorological Department has issued a warning to the people of Delhi. It advised people to come out only in case of emergency. Education Minister Atishi declared holiday for public and private schools in Delhi. Not only in Delhi but also on the Delhi-Noida Expressway due to heavy rain, there was a traffic jam. Motorists faced severe difficulties for hours.

A house collapsed in North Delhi’s Sabji Mandi area, injuring a person. A woman was seriously injured when a wall collapsed due to heavy rains in Vasant Kunj. Due to the heavy rain, flights were severely disrupted. 10 flights to Delhi were cancelled. Some other flights were diverted.
