Revanth Reddy’s ‘East India Company’ has now joined the list of government contracts
Hyderabad: Not long ago, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, who was the president of TPCC, described Megha Engineering and Infrastructure Limited (MEIL) as an ‘East India company’ and accused the company of ‘looting the state through commissions’. Interestingly, the same company has now been shortlisted as the lowest bidder for the Revanth Reddy Pet Project, Narayanapet – Kodangal Lift Irrigation (NKLI) works package.
Revanth Reddy’s old videos on MEIL Managing Director PV Krishna Reddy and his company are being widely shared on various social media, with reports that MEIL is under consideration for the contract. Sharing one such video, X user @BharathMBNR said: “Until yesterday Revanth Reddy accused Megha Krishna Reddy of being a thief. Interestingly, the same company was awarded the Narayanpet Kodangal contract at an additional 3.95 per cent…”
Why false allegations were made against BRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao? Is Megha no longer a thief?” asked @BharathMBNR.
Revanth Reddy said that Megh Krishna Reddy is a big thief. Until yesterday, he gave Narayanapet Kondangal contract to the same company today, which is also 3.95% more.
Why did you accuse KCR?
Now isn’t it a cloud thief??Another contractor, Congress minister Ponguleti’s company, was 3.9% higher pic.twitter.com/tUAihbogMp

MEIL is not the only company in the limelight. Raghava Constructions, owned by Finance Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy’s family, was selected as the lowest bidder for another package under NKLI. In all, four companies have submitted bids for two packages under NKLI at an estimated cost of Rs 4,350 crore. Megha and Raghava Constructions were shortlisted for the works in the price bids while the remaining two companies were disqualified during the technical evaluation of the bids.
Here too, for Package I estimated at Rs 1,134.62 crore, Raghava Constructions quoted 3.9 per cent more than the tenders. It was declared the lowest bidder 1 and Megha, which quoted 4.85 per cent higher, was declared the lowest bidder 2.
Similarly, for Package II estimated at Rs 1,126.85 crore, Megha quoted 3.95 per cent higher than the tenders. It was shortlisted as the 1st lowest bidder and Raghava Constructions, which quoted 4.80 per cent higher, was declared as the 2nd lowest bidder. Normally, the lowest bidder is awarded 1 contract.
Netizens are also questioning Revanth Reddy’s change of heart towards contractors from Andhra Pradesh after sharing old videos of him saying ‘East India Company’. The videos in which Revanth Reddy has alleged that contractors from AP are being given other jobs in Telangana too are doing the rounds. In one such video, Revanth Reddy is seen asserting that Yadadri temple architect Anand Sai is from AP, Chinna Jeyar Swamy is from AP and Hyderabad Metro Rail MD NVS Reddy is from Rajahmundry in AP.
