Rs. Drugs worth 30 thousand seized from an illegal medical shop in Capra

Capra: Telangana Drugs Control Administration (DCA) officials raided an illegal medical shop at Malkaram, Church Colony, Jawahar Nagar Village, Capra Mandal, on 26 September 2024. Danturi Siva Kumar runs Shree Vigneswara Medical and General Stores without a hitch. A valid drug license.

DCA officials have seized a stock of medicines worth around Rs. 30,000 during operation. They found unauthorized stockpiles of various drugs in significant quantities, including 36 types of antibiotics, steroids, anti-ulcer drugs and analgesics.

Drug Inspectors T. Shivateja, E. Tirupati and K. Muralikrishna conducted raids. Samples of the seized drugs have been sent for analysis and further investigations are underway. As per the law, action will be taken against all offenders.

The DCA highlighted that wholesalers and dealers who supply medicines to unlicensed establishments are also subject to penalties under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act. They are reminded to ensure that any drug recipient has a valid drug license.

Operating without a drug license is a serious offence, punishable under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act and punishable by up to five years in prison.

In a separate raid on September 26 and 27, the DCA also raided clinics run by unqualified practitioners in several areas including Mahbubnagar Town in Telangana, Banjara Hills in Hyderabad, Gungal Village, Korutla Town, Jula Village and Satyanarayanapuram Village. As a result of these operations, illegally stored Rs. 3.45 lakhs.

The following persons and positions are identified:

Khader Pasha of Ganesh Nagar, Mahbubnagar Town, Mahbubnagar District was found with 53 types of medicines, two types of doctor’s samples and one expired medicine.

ARUN KUMAR DAS UDAY NAGAR, ROAD NO. 11, Balaji runs a doctor’s clinic in Banjarahills and was found to have stock of 50 types of medicines.

Battula Lakshmaiah of Gungal village of Yacharam mandal of Rangareddy district was found to have 24 types of medicines and 20 types of medical samples.

A. Srikanth was found with 40 types of drugs in Korutla town of Jagittala district.

21 types of drugs were found at Bakkolla Ramaswami Goud of Jula (B) village, Tanur mandal, Nirmal district.

Jangam Satish of Satyanarayanapuram village Cherla mandal of Bhadradri-Kottagudem district kept 29 types of medicines.

DCA has asked the public to report any suspicious drug manufacturing activities or illegal sale of drugs. Complaints can be filed through DCA toll-free number 1800-599-6969, working on all working days from 10:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
