The promise of Rs 2 lakh loan waiver to all farmers by August 15 has been partially implemented. It has forgotten the farmers who have more than Rs.2 lakh loan due to various reasons and conditions. According to the government, all the farmers were not given loan waiver by August 15. Questions are being heard that if there is an incomplete waiver, how will the total waiver be made? Opinions are being expressed that if the government had waived off loans even to farmers with loans of more than Rs.2 lakh, it would not have earned the reputation of keeping its promise. As a result, CM Revanth Reddy, who said that he will waive off loans of up to Rs.2 lakh to all farmers before August 15, is facing criticism from the opposition that ‘guarantee is true..implementation is false’.

17 thousand crores made for 31 thousand crores!

According to the government’s calculations, the loans of 32.5 lakh farmers have to be waived off Rs.31 thousand crores. But, the government waived off only Rs.17,869 crore for 22.2 lakh people. Still 10.3 lakh people have not been exempted. They still have to waive their loans of Rs.13,131 crores. In the first tranche, Rs.6,035 crore was waived off to 11.34 lakh farmers. In the second tranche, Rs 6,190 crore was waived off for 6.40 lakh farmers with loans up to Rs 1.5 lakh, while in the third tranche, Rs 5,644 crore was waived off for 4.46 lakh farmers with loans up to Rs 2 lakh. In this way, Rs.17,869 crore was waived to 22.2 lakh farmers in three installments within a month. Twice as many people could not become debt free.

Revanth Reddy, who announced loan waiver for all farmers during the elections, imposed regulations after coming to power. Increased farmers, cultivation, crop loans..

In 2018-19, banks have given farmers Rs. 33 thousand crores of crop loans, last year Rs. 65 thousand crores have been sanctioned.
