However, he did not panic and saved the lives of 20 school children while losing his life on the one hand. This incident took place in Tamil Nadu. Going into the details… a 49-year-old school bus driver suffered a heart attack in Tiruppur district. He stopped the van safely on the side of the road. He died soon after saving the lives of around 20 students.

Locals noticed it and rushed to the hospital where the doctors revealed that the driver had already passed away. On the one hand, netizens are saluting Unnadriver’s bravery in a situation where he could die. A photo of Semalayappan sitting unconscious on the driver’s seat with school children has gone viral on social media.

The incident took place on Wednesday, July 24, when Semalayappan was taking students from ANV Matriculation School in Vellacoil to drop them at their homes. He stopped the vehicle safely on the side of the road with great difficulty due to pain in his chest.

Driver’s family Rs. 5 lakh compensation:

His wife also works as a helper in the same school.. It is noteworthy that he was in the van when he collapsed. Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin has praised the heroic act of the driver who saved the lives of the children even though he was on the verge of death. “Though his life was in danger.. he saved the precious lives of the school students. We salute him for his sense of duty and self-sacrifice. “Though he dies physically, he lives on in the hearts of all,” Stalin said in a statement.

CM Stalin announced that a compensation of Rs 5 lakh will be given to Semalayappan’s family. DMK Minister MP Saminathan handed over the check to the families of the deceased. Students and teachers of a private school paid tribute to the van driver. School Education Minister Anbil Mahesh also visited the family and paid his respects.
