Sensational verdict of Rangareddy court in married suicide case, life sentence for three
Dowry harassment has increased in recent times. Many people harass girls for dowry. There have been incidents where family members of the in-laws have been attacked along with the husband. However, a woman committed suicide because she could not handle the harassment of dowry. The Rangareddy District Sessions Court, which heard this case, issued a sensational verdict. Three accused were sentenced to life imprisonment.
Patlavat Surend of Talakondapally mandal Poolsing Tanda of Rangareddy district was married to a woman named Sunitha. Sunitha’s parents gave Rs 5 lakh cash and two tola gold ornaments as dowry. However.. Sunita-Surender couple also have a son and a daughter. After two years of marriage, Sunitha’s husband started harassing her. Atta Peekli and Adupadachu Santosh are also involved in this. They started harassing me physically and mentally to bring additional dowry. Sunita committed suicide by hanging herself at home on January 10, 2021, unable to cope with the harassment. The police registered a case and arrested the accused and sent them to remand.
Judge Harisha of Rangareddy District Sessions Court, who conducted the inquiry in the recent EC case, gave a sensational verdict. For harassing a married woman and causing her suicide, along with her husband, her aunt and uncle were sentenced to life imprisonment. The court also ordered to pay a fine of Rs.50 thousand.
