SIT suspends investigation in ghee adulteration case

Tirumala: DGP Cha Dwaraka Tirumala Rao He said that the special investigation team probing the ghee adulteration case has temporarily stopped the investigation. As the case is pending in the Supreme Court, which will come up for further hearing on October 3, a decision on the trial will be taken depending on the orders of the apex court.

Speaking to the media in Tirumala on Tuesday, the DGP said that the SIT has so far collected some basic information regarding the process of purchases and tenders as this system needs to be studied first. However, on the advice of the state government counsel appearing before the Supreme Court in the case, it was decided to stay the proceedings for the time being. He said he could not comment further as the matter was pending before the court.
