Sri Radhashtami celebrations were held grandly at the Hare Krishna Golden Temple in Hyderabad
Hyderabad: The Hare Krishna Golden Temple in Banjara Hills on Wednesday celebrated Sri Radhashtami, the darshan of Lord Krishna’s consort Radharani.
Devotees from all walks of life thronged the temple from early morning to have a special darshan of Sri Radha Govinda deities adorned in new clothes and exquisite jewellery. On this occasion, the Peethas of the Golden Temple were specially decorated with garlands.
On Wednesday evening under the auspices of Hare Krishna Movement-Hyderabad, 108 Kalasha Shri Radha Govinda Abhishekam was performed amid Vedic chants and Harinama Sankirtans.
Panchamrita, Panchagavya, fruit juices, rare herbs, different types of flowers and special medicines were offered to Radha Govindu as part of the abhishekam program, said a press release.
In a special address, HKM-Hyderabad President, Satya Gaura Chandra Dasa Prabhu emphasized the importance of Radhashtami and said that Radharani is considered the mother of the entire universe and devotees pray to her to bless Krishna on this auspicious day. Bhakti
