Sunita Williams, stuck in the space station, is under threat of illness..! These are the health problems.

Sunita Williams: Getting stuck in the International Space Station is going to affect the health of Indian-origin astronaut Sunita Williams. Sunita Williams along with Barry Wilmore went into space on the 5th of last month. They were due to return 10 days after schedule when the Boeing Starliner spacecraft developed a problem. As a result, the two astronauts were stuck there for almost a month. Due to this there is concern about their health.

Astronauts are at risk of illness due to microgravity, radiation exposure, and special weather conditions. Lack of gravity affects blood pressure control. Bone density decreases. The weight of the spine, femur, and abdominal bones decreases. It affects the kidney system. Calcium increases and there is a risk of kidney stone formation. Vision problems are haunting. There is a threat of cancer due to the effect of radiation in space.

Despite rigorous exercise, medical supervision, and nutrition, many changes occur in their health. A space bug has already entered the space station. NASA announced that bacteria are on the space station. Astronauts are expected to develop lung problems with the bacteria, which are multi-drug resistant.

In general, there is a fear of some health problems in the future if the scheduled long days are spent in space. While Sunita Williams and Wilmore were supposed to return after 10 days, they had to stay there due to problems in the spacecraft. This is going to seriously affect their mental condition. Sunita Williams is scheduled to return on June 11. Astronauts had to remain in space due to massive helium leakage in the spacecraft and thrusters screeching. Then everyone expected to return on June 26. But, that didn’t happen. NASA is unable to say when the astronauts will reach Earth due to repeated technical problems with the spacecraft.

But ISRO chief Somnath said that there is no need to worry about the delay as the astronauts have returned. Launch providers are ready to send a new spacecraft and bring them back if the astronauts cannot be brought back by the Boeing-built Starliner, he said. Some scientists are of the opinion that Sunita Williams is very courageous and has successfully completed many missions. It is said that such problems have no effect on Sunita Williams. All in all we wish Sunita Williams and Wilmore a safe return as soon as possible.
