That’s why the current was switched off: Vijayawada Police Commissioner
Vijayawada Police Commissioner Kantirana Tata reacted to the incident of attack on CM Jagan Mohan Reddy in Vijayawada. Speaking in a media conference, he said that adequate security has been provided to CM Jagan during his visit to Vijayawada and four platoons of forces from APSP have been assigned for CM’s security. He said that there is also an octopus and CM security wing. It was explained that a person like the CM would get on top of the vehicle in the road show and turn off the electricity anywhere without touching the wires while conducting the roof top show. He said that in some places electricity was cut off due to wind and rain. It has been clarified that this is a part of the security protocol.
When the CM’s bus came near Vivekananda School and Ganganamma Temple in Ajit Singh Nagar, Vijayawada, a person pelted stones. They said that they have seen the footage of the CCTV cameras available there for the last two days. Based on the information collected from the eyewitnesses, it was found that a person had thrown a stone. The stone hit CM Jagan’s forehead on the left side and hit the nose and eye of Velampalli who was next to him and fell down. The video footage is very clear. He said that the videos have been sent to the forensic lab for further clarification. A case was registered under IPC 307 after receiving Vellampalli’s complaint.
