Bareilly: A trial court in Bareilly has sparked controversy by sentencing a man to life imprisonment, saying it was a love jihad case in which “Muslim men targeting Hindu girls, lure Hindu girls and marry them with the aim of converting them. Islam.”

Delivering the verdict in the rape case involving a Hindu girl and a Muslim boy, Additional Sessions Judge (Fast Track) Ravikumar Diwakar in Bareilly said, “Love Jihad is part of a larger international conspiracy against India by an illegal sect. A community uses population warfare with the goal of establishing dominance.

Love Jihad needs huge amount of money, foreign funding for Love Jihad cannot be ruled out: Court

“Love Jihad requires huge amount of money and foreign funding for Love Jihad cannot be ruled out,” the court said.

The court made these observations in a case where a Hindu girl from Bareilly had alleged that a Muslim boy, who pretended to be a Hindu, wooed her, cheated her, had sex with her, took photos and videos of her and blackmailed her.

What is the victim’s case?

The victim’s case is that she met the boy while she was studying at a computer coaching center where she met a Muslim boy who was pretending to be a Hindu named Anand. According to the victim girl, the boy married her in a Hindu temple in March 2022 and had sex with her thereafter. The victim later became pregnant and went to the boy’s house when she found out that the boy was Aleem, a Muslim, rather than Anand.

The boy’s parents pressured the girl to convert and marry Aleem according to Muslim law

The boy’s parents pressured the girl to convert and marry Aleem according to Muslim law. When the girl refused to convert, she was forced to abort her pregnancy and was constantly threatened and forced to convert.

While deciding the case, the court came to the conclusion that the accused Aleem had committed rape and his act was love jihad and was also against the recently enacted Uttar Pradesh Act against converts and sentenced him to life imprisonment.

The court said marriage was being used as a tool by a section of the society to systematically target Hindu girls to convert them to Islam.
