Vijayawada Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy Varla Devasthanam has received Rs 2.42 crore hundi income in the last 16 days, temple officials said. On Saturday morning, the hundi counting process was conducted in the Maha Mandapam office on the sixth floor, while the counting of cash, gold and silver was supervised by the Temple Executive Officer (EO) D. Bhramaramba. Out of a total of 45 prasadam boxes, the staff counted 44 boxes. The rest will be counted on Monday. Devotees offered Rs.2,42,00,124 in cash, 640 grams of gold ornaments and 4.695 kg of silver. The temple is getting an average income of Rs.15.12 lakhs per day. Besides, EO Bhramaramba said that through e-Hundi, the temple got an income of Rs.35,487.
