Amaravati: Tragedy has taken place in Parvathipuram Manyam district of AP. A government teacher was washed away in the river. Another person saved his life with the help of a tree branch.
Aarti, a government teacher working at Ekalavya School in the village, and Mahesh, a hostel warden, were crossing the stream on a bike and two were swept away by the current. After going some distance in the stream, Mahesh reached the bank safely with the help of a tree branch, but the teacher Aarti got lost in the stream.
When the villagers came to know about the matter, they washed in the river but no result was seen. District Minister Sandhyarani responded to the incident and ordered the District Collector to intensify the search for the teacher.
