TTD will conduct Vaikuntha Dwara Darshan for ten days from December 23 to January 1 as per Vaishnava tradition at Tirumala Srivari Temple. A day in Vaikuntha, the holy abode of Lord Vishnu, the savior of the universe, is considered equal to one year on earth. The 12 hours of day in that one day are equal to the six months of Uttarayana and the remaining 12 hours of night are equal to the remaining six months of Dakshina on earth. In that one day, 120 minutes at dawn in Vaikuntam is equal to 30 days of Dhanurmasa on earth.. Lord Vishnu gives darshan to all other deities, sages and devotees for 40 minutes in Brahma Muhurtam. It is equal to ten days. A visit to Vaikunthdwara is nowadays considered the most auspicious means of attaining divine bliss.
Due to the limited number of rooms in Tirumala, TTD appealed to the devotees to get rooms in Tirupati in view of the rush of devotees on these days. Protocol VIPs who come by themselves will be given a limited preview of the break. Letters of recommendation are not accepted. The result of darshan by Vaikuntha lasts for 10 days. Therefore, TTD requests that VIPs and other devotees should make plans to have darshan on the first day of Vaikuntha Ekadashi only, so that they can have darshan on any day in ten days.
