Vijayawada: Five members of the same family, including a doctor, died

A family suicide incident in Vijayawada city has created a stir. Five members of the same family living in Guru Nanak Nagar in Patamata area died. D. Srinivas (40), a prominent orthopedic doctor living locally along with his wife Usha (38), two children Shailaja (9), Srihan (8) and mother Ramanamma (65) committed suicide. On Tuesday morning, when the worker went to the house, he found Srinivas in a rage on the balcony. She informed those around her who were shocked. While the police came to know about the matter from the locals and reached the spot and investigated.

The bodies of Srinivas’ wife, two children and mother were found inside the house. The police said that their throats were cut. Locals think that Srinivas recently set up a hospital, sold it due to losses and has been in financial trouble ever since. Police believe that he may have killed his family and then committed suicide due to financial difficulties. Police Commissioner Ramakrishna inspected the incident site.
