Vishmi Gunaratne Roar century in ODIs.. Lankan opener who created history

Vishmi Gunaratne: Sri Lanka women’s team opener Vishmi Gunaratne has created history. He scored his first century in ODIs. In the first ODI against Ireland, Vishvi shone with a triple-digit score. With that, Vishmi set a record as the second woman cricketer from Lanka to achieve this feat.

Moreover, Visvi has written another record in her name as the youngest cricketer to score a hundred for Lanka in all formats. Before Gunaratne, Chamari Athapathuthu made history in ODIs with a roaring century.

Sri Lanka lost the toss and went into bat at the Civil Services Cricket Club in Belfast. Vishmi Gunaratne (103) played aggressively even though Captain Chamari Atapattu (0) was ducked. The youngster played a game out of the Ireland bowlers as he formed a key partnership with Harshita Mandavi ().

Bursting with huge shots, Vishmi scored a century in 98 balls with 9 fours and 3 sixes. When she was dismissed when the team scored 157 runs, Hasini Pereira (46), Sugandhika Kumari (18) and Anushka Sanjeevani (17) played Dhanadhan. With that, Lanka set a target of 261 runs for the opponent.
